Sažetak
In this study, differences in the bioactive polyphenolic substances between chokeberries (cultivars “Nero”, “Viking”, “Galicianka” ; wild chokeberry) (Aronia melanocarpa) were examined. The results showed that there were some differences between investigated fruits according to the amount of polyphenols, anthocyanins, and the antiradical activity. Somewhat higher total polyphenol and total anthocyanin content were found in wild chokeberries and in cultivar “Nero”. Wild chokeberries and cultivar “Nero” showed stronger antiradical activity determined by the DPPH method. The phenolic compound distribution was similar in all chokeberries as well as their kinetic behavior in the free radical capturing.
