Sažetak
The selection of the appropriate size of the standardised hook becomes more complex, and the knowledge about the geometrical characteristics of the principal cross-sections of the hook even more significant by application of several types of higher quality fine granulated steels in the manufacture of load lifting hooks (e.g. DIN 15400) as well as by increasing the number of the class of utilisation. The paper presents the results of the numerical determination of the geometrical characteristics of the standardised hooks, the knowledge about which is important for the practical calculation and for the design of the lifting capacity cross-sections of the hooks. Based on the results, a simple procedure is suggested for selection of the hook size depending on the load, hook material and the class of utilisation.
