Sažetak
In this paper a simple solution of practical stress and strain analysis of two contact bodies by means of straight numerical calculation of Hertzs contact formulae is shown. All the necessary data were calculated directly, so that no auxiliary tables or diagrams need to be used. The diagrams that we have previously known from the literature can also be easily drawn in order to present graphically the changes of the values and the interdependence of single calculation variables. The method has proven to be suitable both for the practical and theoretical problem analysis. In this paper, the method is illustrated by examples of the wheels and crane rails. Using the algorithm completed in the software package Mathematica, the necessary Hertzs characteristics required for the calculation of steel wheels on steel rails have been computed for the standardised wheels and rails according to DIN 15070 and DIN 536 T.1.
