Sažetak
In the retail industry in Europe there is an ongoing trend of market consolidation by rapid growth of the large international retail companies. Undergoing process of retail market concentration is bringing new challenges to all market participants: suppliers (such as: production industry, wholesalers and logistic companies), existing retailers and customers. In this paper we will discuss types of concentrations in retail industry and the reached level of the retail market concentration. We will address the impact of concentration process on retail market structure. In addition, we will explain the requisite of state legislation in this area via competition law.
