Sažetak
This paper examines an application of the method of characteristics developed for unsteady two-dimensional viscid flow. This method has direct relevance in many practical applications because of its great stability, high accuracy and low computer time consumption. Flow around a rectangular cylinder has been calculated using the developed method, in the range of Reynolds numbers from 100 to 1600. The computed stream lines, base pressure, drag force and Strouhal number show good agreement with experimental results.
