Sažetak
Two iterative procedures for solving algebraic equation systems that arise in two-dimensional fluid flow calculations when using a five-point scheme are proposed. The sensitivity of these procedures to the cell-aspect ratio and to the number of equations is examined. The proposed procedures are compared to the Strongly Implicit Procedure (SIP), and then applied to the laminar flow over a backward facing step. The obtained results demonstrate robustness of proposed methods as well as a significant improvement (with respect to SIP) in convergence rate of the SIMPLE algorithm, when large fluid flow problems are concerned. The proposed methods are simple and can be easily included in existing CFD codes.
