Sažetak
The paper describes the project focused on defining the place in the SDI development as well as on the spatial technology needs and potential of the Florozon, NGO engaged with years on the matters of: promotion and protection of environmental democracy, citizens’ interests related to environmental rights (access to information, participation and access to justice), sustainable development in the environment, the agro-food sector and the overall economy and strengthening the rule of law in environmental matters. The idea is to indicate the approach that NGOs engaged in environmental issues could take in order to enhance their work and at the same time contribute to SDI development, enhancing it with the public involvement, accompanying NGOs and key stakeholders in SDI development. It is to be considered and elaborated: motivation, framework, structure, possibilities and advantages of potential stakeholder (NGO) acting within SDI. Finally, methods and means for spatial data usage within NGO will be identified and described, according to European standards and SDI demands. This paper aims towards widening the discussion, exchanging experiences and filtering the project focus fields in order to broaden synergy effects initiated by inclusion of experts from across the SEE. Thus, more fruitful and comprehensive results would be expected upon the project finalisation.
