Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to find out if there is a significant difference between the opportunity and necessity entrepreneurs in Croatia. The logistic regression analysis was used to test the relationship between entrepreneurial activities motivated by opportunity or necessity and the set of demographic, psychographic and perceptual (socio-cultural, growth aspirational and industry/organizational) variables. The research findings indicate that almost the same factors explain entrepreneurial activity, whereas their direction of influence differs depending on entrepreneurial motivation. Variables reflecting innovation potential and aspirations of entrepreneurs to entrepreneurial venture growth turned to be statistically insignificant. The policy implications of these findings are briefly discussed in this paper as well.
