Sažetak
Pink dentex is a good candidate species for the dicersification of mariculture in Europe, because of its high growth rate and good performance in cage culture with low mortality and good acceptance of food. There is also good market in the Mediterranean region for tsuch a kind of fish , and one of most important things is that this fish can be sell at various size (in whole or in slices) and as such contribute to the increase of market needs. Once the problem of fingerlings supply is solved and the feeding will be improved (i.e.artificial feeding) , their culture will be extended and D. gibbosus may become a new valuable fish species in European mariculture industry.
