Sažetak
The present paper discusses the results of preliminary research conducted in Osijek with the topic of usage and familiarity of basic Croatian proverbs. Since, according to our knowledge, the project concerting the compilation of the Croatian paremiological minimum is still ongoing, the permise for the present pilot study consisted of the proverbs from the contemporary Croatian textbooks and universal proverbs. The goal of the research was to test, by using a standardized questionnaire, if these proverbs were known to students and in which form were they recognized questimare, if hese proverbs were known to students and in wich form wherw they recognized by or being used (as canonical forms or proverb aliterations). The aim of the present paper therefore is to go give an overview of the study, present the findings and the statistical analyses.
