Sažetak
During 2011, as a result of implementing the National control program for classical swine fever (CSF) in domestic pigs and wild boars, 66 284 tests were carried out. Most samples were tested by antibody ELISA (37 935 ; of which 25 306 tests on samples originating from domestic pigs and 12 629 from wild boars). All antibody positive samples have been confirmed by virus neutralization test. Furthermore, a total of 28 891 tests were carried out by antigen ELISA, RT-PCR, real time PCR or/and virus isolation (16 825 tests done on samples originating from domestic pigs and 11 996 from wild boars). All virological tests were negative. Antibody positive results were found in 22 out of 25 306 (0, 08%) domestic pigs. All positive results originated from sows more than 6 years of age that were vaccinated before vaccination was banned (in 2005). Sero-positive results in 2011 were gained in 17 wild boars from the Sisak Moslavina and Vukovar-srijem County. In both counties, CSF has been last confirmed by virus detection in March 2008. Since then, antibody prevalence in wild boars within these two counties differed, regardless of the implementation of the same measures. The prevalence in the infected area of the Sisak-moslavina County has been continuously high in 2009 (24, 3%) and 2010 (23, 2%), whereas in Vukovar-srijem County, the prevalence showed a negative trend, with a decrease in the incident level in 2010 (13, 7% in 2009 to 6, 7% in 2010). This could be a result of a better efficiency of control measures carried out in an area where the hunting ground is fenced in comparison with the open hunting ground in the Sisak-moslavina County. The sero-prevalence has, again, significantly decreased in 2011 in both counties. It was only 0, 3% in the previously infected area in Vukovar-srijem and 1, 0% in Sisak-moslavina County. In contrary to our previous studies, the newly gained results show that the majority of sero positive wild boars found within the outbreak area in both investigated counties are female animals older than 2 years of age (p<0.001). This could be a result of detecting residual specific antibodies developed during the 2008 CSF outbreak and a more efficient response to the control program due to the enlargement of the number of received samples from the areas infected in 2008.
