Sažetak
This report describes a process of obtaining precipitated calcium carbonate by means of carbonation of suspension of lime ; purity of the initial raw material was varied, as well as gas composition and flow, and operation temperature. The process was carried out at a constant mixing rate of 750 rpm. milk of lime was prepared with technical grade hydrated lime, and by hydration of lime obtained by calcination of reagent grade calcium carbonate. The process was monitored through changes in electrical conductivity of the suspension. κ - t curves have been qualitatively kinetically interpreted. i. e. they were used to determine the effect of temperature, and gas composition and flow, on carbonation duration. The fineness of particles, and the content of calcium carbonate in samples synthesized was determined. X - ray diffraction and qualitative phase analyses by means of Meigen assay were carried out.
