Sažetak
The results obtained for hydration heat indicate the hydration heat and the maximum intensity of hydration heat rate to be higher in asbestos-cement than in the pure cement paste. The experiments have confirmed the cement hydration process in presence of asbestos to be more intensive, so that degree of reactivity increases. The intensive reaction of cement hydration process when asbestos is present may be explained by asbestos having large specific surface, so that the cement particles dispersed on the asbestos fibers have a fuller contact with water. Besides, the asbestos surface is not inert, but has the ability to adsorb hydration products. Results obtained from adsorption isotherms may be used to calculate the number of Ca(OH)_2 molecules adsorbed per asbestos surface unit.
