Sažetak
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of crystalline materials that consist of metal ions and organic ligands linked together by coordination bonds. Because of their porosity and the possibility of combining large surface areas with pore characteristics that can be tailored, these materials show great promise for a wide range of applications. Employment of mechanochemical synthesis is novel way of the manipulation of the dimensionality of MOFs.1, 2 Results of mechanochemical synthesis of guanidine (cng) - zinc and cadmium complexes were presented in which guanidine acts as a heteroditopic ligand.3 It was found that mechanochemical synthesis via neat or liquid-assisted grinding (LAG) methodologies offers a simple, rapid and clean way to control the stioichiometry and dimensionality of MOFs (Figure 1). A complete implementation of the “solvent-free synthesis paradigm” in an environmentally-friendly MOFs synthesis was achieved via neat grinding, quantitative yields and product analysis by PXRD and solid state NMR.
