Sažetak
Results of investigation of the effective depth of x-ray penetration on model samples of magnetite layer have shown that x-ray diffraction analysis can be fruitfully applied in the study of surface layer. The plate samples (from boiler tubes of an thermal power station) were measzred directly, perpendicularly to the direction of rolling on a special holder. X-ray measurement of the integrated intensity of diffraction line 110 Fe were performed at room temperature using a Philips diffractometer with a proportional counter. The magnetite film thickness was calculated using a derived expression after Friedman and Bricks.
