Sažetak
Intensive dance training may cause expected injuries profiles (Luke et al. 2002). During periods of accelerated growth when training loads increases in accordance with competitions demands pain prevalence is strongly recommended. The investigation is conducted on the sample of 73 female dancers, age range 13-15, divided in two subsamples: thirty-seven international – elite (E) and thirty six national (N) Standard and Latin and Show dance female dancers. The aims of the present study were to: (1) define differences between groups based on their competition level, trainee internship and training intensity ; (2) analyze the proportions of pain status of 14 body regions for the adolescent dancers by monitoring their pain status using the SEFIP questionnaire (Miletic et al. 2009). According to the ANOVA results there were significant differences between two dance groups in: trainee internship, while E group has 5.52±1.28 and N group has 3.8±0.79 years of dancing exepriance and training intensity, while E group has 4.95±2.11 and N group has 2.75±1.08 training units weekly. The most common locations for injuries for both investigated groups were calves (43, 75%), knees (34, 3%), and ankles/feet (25, 9%) which is consisted with previous investigations (Miletic et al. 2009 ; Miletic et al. 2011). According to the Chi square test, the national dancers reported a significantly higher frequency of shoulder injuries than elite dancers. This result occurred because national group of dancers were consisted mostly of Show dancers were acrobatic elements were part of choreography and shoulders region were more prone to injury. In future studies dancers’ susceptibility to injuries and pain experience should be investigated for each dance style separately. According to results obtain in this study we can presume that pain status in lower extremities is similar for both Standard and Latin and Show dance stiles, while in upper extremities the shoulder injuries will appear more frequently among Show dancers in accordance with their representation in National group of dancers. Musculoskeletal pain in lower extremities were commune occurrence among young female dancers and a frequent pain status check could help dancers and their coaches in preventing dance injuries.
