Sažetak
Croatia is passing through a very intensive pre-accession period. If the negotiation process ends successfully Croatia could become a part of EU integration by the end of 2009. In the light of this dynamics, the following context is to be looked upon ; a successful implementation of EU legislative frame and EU demands, when it comes to adopting the new system, is laying upon human resources. Higher education is in position to act in favour of popularization of EU by giving to students elementary knowledge of benefits which integration will give to national economy. Looking at this possibility from a different point of view we can say that every professor from different field of study has a possibility to make positive paradigm underlining the benefits which the membership to EU gives to national economy. Financial means which EU provides to countries in pre-accession process are very substantial but not many people know about them. In order to underline the importance of making these information more accessible to general public we will make research on students of the University of Split, University of Professional Studies, measuring the difference in opinion about EU before and after exposing them to accurate information about EU funds. The comparison with similar research made on SMEs of Dalmatian county in 2007. will also be provided. The purpose of this paper is to underline the importance of the role HE has in emphasizing positive effects on Croatian economy that are expected from joining the EU.
