Sažetak
The main programming language used for Android programming is Java, but you can also develop applications using C/C++. Unlike Java, C/C++ are unmanaged languages therefore meaning they are executed directly by the operating system without intermediate layers. This intermediate language in the case of Android is Dalvik Virtual Machine (DVM). In this paper we consider Native Development Kit (NDK) for unmanaged native Android applications. The main advantage you should expect is performance enhancement, however it turns out it is not so simple. In the following sections we will go over Android internals, DVM and NDK to understand the right way how and when to use native development trough examples and the real world scenario.
