Sažetak
Monitoring and research of stand elements in a particular period can give us an insight into stand structure development, both specifically and a picture of stand development as a whole. Research was carried out in the community of common oak and common hornbeam (Carpino betuli-Quercetum roboris Anić ex. Rauš 1969). Research included 207 trial plots. Out of 29 comparative plots, from which, following the criteria of comparability of all structural elements, 14 elements were chosen after the selection. Most important ecological and dendrometrical data were gathered from 14 trial plots 45 to 113 years old during the first measurement and 59 to 125 years old during the second measurement. Number of trees, their diameter and height were measured, among other things, and basal area and volume were calculated on the basis of those data. All researched structural elements were observed as time functions. Obtained data will be of use to forestry experts in field work in easier and better planning and carrying out of silvicultural and managerial works which they face during stand development, in better control and insight into the current stand condition as well as in prognosis of future condition and determination of trends for future forestry.
