Sažetak
In the last decade the family is viewed as dynamic system of relations in interaction. Healthy family climate and children development depend of strong, affective relationships between family members. Family systems theorists suggest that family members may perceive their family environments differently, depending on their family roles, their experience within the family and the amount of investment in family-related issues. Adolescent siblings’ perception of their family can be different and compared with one another. The Family Environment Scale (FES, Moos and Moos, 2002) can be used to describe family social environments, to contrast parents and children’s perceptions and to compare actual and preferred family climates. FES was adapted, and Croatian version was used in this study from comparing perception of family climate between children with special needs and their siblings. The sample included 24 children with special needs who attended the 6th grade in regular schools and their typical siblings (N=24).
