Sažetak
This paper presents an analysis of the quality and microstructure of a welded joint made from duplex stainless steel of grade X2CrNiMoN22-5- 3. A 16 mm thick sheet was prepared for the purpose of welding a V-joint. The welding procedure consisted of the Tungsten inert gas (TIG) process, applied to weld the root, and the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) technique, applied to fill the V-joint. The welded joint quality analysis was carried out through non-destructive testing (penetrant and radiographic testing). The non-destructive testing showed that the welded joint complied with the weld quality criteria. The microstructure analysis consisted of a microscopic examination (optical and scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy) and a measurement of the ferrite content using a ferritoscope. The microstructure analysis was performed on a welded joint sample which consisted of the base material, the heat affected zone and the weld metal. The microstructure of the welded duplex stainless steel joint consisted of austenite, ferrite and sporadic complex inclusions. The EDX analysis showed that these inclusions consisted of oxygen, carbon, iron and chromium. The analysis of the ferrite content was performed across the welded joint. The base material contained 31.5% ferrite. The content of ferrite in the weld metal was 36-40% at the face and 48-61% at the root of the welded joint.
