Sažetak
Ammonia nad nitrates are the most abundant harmful chemicals found in waetewater of Petrokemija (Kutina, Croatia) chemical plants. In order to increase the level of the enviromnental protection, the wastewater treatement plants was build, based on the iion exchange process. The strong acid cation resins and weak base anion resin are used for nitrogen remuval. Cation resin regeneration is performed by 56% nitric acid and anion resin by 16% ammonium hydroxyde, applying the external regeneration process. We investigated the possibility of using Dowex C 400, monodispersive strong acid cation resin for ammonia nitrogen remuval from fertilizer wastewater. The comparative laboratory investigation with standard type of resin, Duolite C 165 was made. The saturation was made by weastewater from the real system.
