Sažetak
The aim of this paper is twofold. The first part of the paper discusses the production of the belle stereotype in the U.S. South. The second part of the paper focuses on the character of Blanche DuBois in Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire. Throughout the play, she is depicted as affirmation and subversion, symbol and antithesis, past and present of the Southern belle stereotype.
