Sažetak
This paper explores the narrow urban-planning aspect of the complex interdisciplinary issues of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the destroyed Forum area in Zadar after the Second World War. Comparing the entries submitted at three urban-planning competitions for a period of over thirty years, which were conducted in order to complete the renovation and further construction of the historic city centre, we can trace (to date) the unfinished reconstruction of the historical city of Zadar. This research provides a comparative analysis of selected available competition entries and gives an overview of the new buildings (from 1945 to 1989) in the Forum area. This work represents a contribution from the perspective of local importance (question of completion of reconstruction and development of the historical city centre of Zadar) and from the perspective of general importance as a contribution to the methodology of cultural heritage conservation in the context of urban planning.
