Sažetak
Lightning location systems (LLS) provide data on lightning activity such as lightning type, GPS location, exact time of the lightning stroke, lightning current amplitude, measurement error, etc. The proper application of LLS data using customized software support can be a powerful decision making tool in the control, maintenance and development of power systems. The utilization of lightning data in power systems requires a customized software support with specific functionalities. Software functionalities include real time lightning activity visualization with alarm function ; analysis, reports and historical lightning activity visualization ; spatial correlation between lightning data and alarm zones around geographically represented power system’s objects (power lines, power facilities, etc.) ; calculation of lightning statistics ; generation of wide area lightning density maps, generation of high resolution lightning density maps inspecting alarm zones around the power lines ; real time correlation between lightning activity and the power system protection equipment (distant protection relays), gathered through the SCADA system. For the realization of the spatial correlation, geographic information system (GIS) data for the power lines, substations and other power facilities must be available. The software implements a communication interface for interconnection with an outside GIS system, and also, a web based interface for the manual input and GIS data management. For a complete real time correlation between lightning activity and registered events within the power system network (data from distance protection relays or other means of network monitoring), a communication interface to the SCADA system is being implemented. The current realization of communication with LLS enables real time lightning tracking, visualization and data processing within 60 seconds of the lightning stroke. Each registered lightning stroke is stored in the database and is directly available for analysis, until it is archived. The software support is realized as a service oriented, four-tier architecture, with a web based user interface. It implements a modular, distributed design making it easily expandable with additional functionalities and adaptive to specific client requests.
