Sažetak
This article provides a preliminary overview of memory studies related to World War Two in Europe, and how it can be relevant for further research projects in Ex-Yugoslavia. The ethnic conflict in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s has produced a vast amount of research on identity from a variety of perspectives and academic fields, from studies on nationalism to an overview of the plurality of postmodern identities throughout the Balkan Peninsula. However, considerable work remains to be done in the field of memory studies, which is only recently being applied to the Yugoslav successor states, especially by scholars in the region.
