Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to show and to compare the basic tipes of mutual funds and investment companies in the world and Slovenia, and to point out their similarities and differences. It will be be shown empirically, that in 1994 Slovenian investment funds had a better performance concerning rate of return and investment policy than most mutual funds and investment companies in the world. To continue such a positive trend, it is necessary to introduce new shares an other financial instruments in Slovenian secondary financial markets.
