Sažetak
As the part of white stork, Ciconia ciconia, conservation activities in Croatia the frame for manipulation with natural nests of white stork is constructed. The white stork nest can be taken off from electric poles and put back on artificial platform by this frame. The frame is used for practical protection of white storks to avoid permanent pulling down of their nests. By this frame, in total 12 nests were successfully displaced in the villages of the NW Croatia during 1995 and 1996. Taking off of nests with this frame, contrary to their pulling down, is a more complete and a more professional procedure in terms of conservation, and, besides, has educational effects on local population. The frame and methods described here have implications for other bird species with large nest.
