Sažetak
This lecture offers an account of the development of internet and computer mediated communication service provision in the Republic of Croatia during the 1990s. It was found that service provision occurred through state sponsored entities, non-governmental organisations and latterly commercial enterprises. The paper includes a brief examination of the political situation in Croatia during the 1990s, an examination of the existing media landscape and an account of the emergence of internet and computer media communications. It is proposed that while older media such as radio, television, newspapers and magazines were heavily interfered with and censored by the Tudjman administration, newer media such as the internet and computer media communication were largely untouched.
