Sažetak
Think tank organisations (policy centres) are modern organisations focused on policy research of all the aspects of society, whose role in the processes of political decision-making in developed countries is almost irreplaceable. Despite their significant role in decision-making processes in developed countries, it is still difficult for political decision-makers in countries in transition to accept their recommendations and research results. There are several reasons for this situation – there is no history of independent policy research in Croatia, until recently, policy focused research was conducted only by scientific institutes, and the political decision-making process in Croatia itself is closed. This paper will present the case of CEPOR, think tank organization that was founded in 2000 with the purpose of conducting policy research, education and influence on public discussion and decision-making process in the area of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship.
