Sažetak
The present volume includes lectures on the nature of Croatian philosophy in history, but especially in the 20th century, and lectures on Christian scholastic epistemology in the context of the 20th century Croatian philosophy. First two lectures deal with nature of national philosophy presented by V. Filipović (text from 1941), and A. Bazala (text from 1938) and criticizes their lack of courage in determining at least vital facets and qualities of Croatian national philosophical thought. Third lecture deals with somewhat tricky question about possibility of Christian or (neo)scholastic philosophy which can be applied nowadays to the widely accepted notion of naturalized philosophy as well. Fourth lecture sets the context of Modern epistemology from the 15th to the 19th century, which is necessary for understanding the 20th century philosophy and Christian philosophy as well. Viewpoints explicated in the lecture are precisely the viewpoints which were, and still are the major adversaries of contemporary scholastic epistemologies. Fifth lecture synoptically presents some main directions, themes, issues, and their solutions in the 20th century Croatian scholastic theory of knowledge in the context of other schools in the same period. Lectures from sixth to ninth explicate some moments of two pre Second world war epistemologies (namely of A. Stadler and S. Zimmermann) and of two post war Second world war epistemologies, one from time of communist totalitarian regime (B. Milanović), and the other partially from the same times and partially from times of renewed democratic and free-market system (I. Macan). These lectures were delivered on various occasions mostly on symposia and conferences, but most of them were incorporated in lectures in epistemology between 1996 and 2006. Tenth lecture is a kind of criticism of practice in Croatian philosophical community.
