Sažetak
Many studies examined the impact of Total quality management on organizational performance, and concluded that there is positive impact. Also, researches showed that one of the key factors of successful Total quality management implementation is strong organizational culture. The purpose of this paper is to determine organizational cultures that influence successful quality management system implementation. Therefore, two different approaches are analyzed: unitarist approach suggest that quality management system is associated with a single culture of organization and second, pluralist approach that supports the ideas of heterogeneity of different cultural dimensions on which quality management system should be created. The various theoretical culture approaches employed to manage quality systems are reviewed and the advantages and limitations of these approaches are highlighted. Thus, this study is intended to provide clearer understanding of organizational culture and its relation with the improvements of quality system. The paper concludes with a description of dimensions of culture that improve quality management system results.
