Sažetak
On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Slovenian constitution, the author looks back at the theory of constitutional engineering, particularly using the lessons of the Croatian experience with the legal transition and still awaited consolidation of the legal order. He calls for a return to the scientific approach to constitutional engineering, as conducive to consolidation of constitutional systems, and simultaneously to the preservation of the fundamental principles of democracy, human rights and freedoms and the rule of law.
