Sažetak
The purpose of this work is to point at the possibilities of the usage of this educational programme Sunčica među slovima (Sunny among letters) for teaching reading and writing skills. We have taken a look into the curriculum for Croatian language in elementary school, explored the concept of Croatian starter books written by multiple authors with different approaches to teaching reading and writing skills, and regarded the Methodology guidebook for teaching computer science in the first grade of elementary school. We conclude that four computer games of the educational programme Sunčica među slovima (Sunny among letters): Slovarica (Alphabet Book), Memo, Spremalica (Storage Box) and Slagalica (Letter Arrangement) can complement all Croatian starter books in use, depending on their structure and approach to reading and writing. On the other hand, Bojanka (Colouring book) is a computer game for children not yet going to school. Educational programme Sunčica među slovima (Sunny among letters) is a medium that can be used on other fields of teaching Croatian language such are teaching language, literature and linguistic expression. Teaching the culture of the media can be realized in correlation with teaching computer science as a facultative subject.
