Sažetak
Person-oriented emergency and intensive care medicine is demanding for medical professionals, especially physicians, patients and family members particularly in the settings of resuscitation and critically ill patient. Quality of care depends on implementation of person-oriented medical education among healthcare professionals and the community. Effective way to help doctors make the decision to practice patient-centered medicine is to fuel their constant curiosity so that they want to learn and keep improving both their knowledge and skills. This curiosity needs to encompass both clinical medicine and an understanding of patients in the emergency setting of at least equal importance. Development of patient-centered standards in medicine and healthcare requires that high quality healthcare professionals deliver excellence in person-centered effective and safe frontline care to the whole community. It is very important to build the awareness of the whole community for the role of continuous education for primary care practitioners and develop education for community teams in areas where there is evidence of impact on the requirements to provide frontline health and social care services outside hospitals, to the services closer to where people live.
