Sažetak
The Croatian floodplain and lowland forests compose 16% of total forest area and 19% growing stock respectively with 285,071 ha and a growing stock of 60.6 milion m3. Owing to the great significance of these forests, they have been site of an intensive management and research for a long time. This paper is a presentation of previous and present management, state and structure all of floodplain ana lowland forest resources (growing stock, volume increment, age class distribution). By consideration of climate disturbances in last time, destruction of the ecosystem stability, changes in site condition and stand structure caused by hydrotechnical works in the region, in the paper will be presented potential productivity, guidelines of future management and development of these forests supported by SD model.
