Sažetak
The survey of factors which influence the transport of wood presented in this study is based on field measurements. Detailed analysis of wood transport was conducted for five types of truck transport groups (KTS) on three representative forest enterprises in Croatia. During the research the following factors varied: the volume of roundwood pieces, the accumulation of roundwood at the auxiliary storage, types of trees and assortments, transport distances, type of transport routes and related horizontal inclination degree.
Various categories of central dispersion trend of measured values have been examined through mathematical and statistical analysis of collected data. Arithmetic mean was chosen as the most favourable indicator of the central trend and standard deviation as the indicator of dispersion. For each subordinate variable the level of dispersion was calculated at 95% probability.
Technological operations and technological wood transport units were analysed in detail for: (1) wood loading; (2) driving loaded and empty KTS trucks; (3) unloading; (4) fuel consumption for technological wood transport units.
In discussion on the possible application of the results, exercise models are defined and composed. Elements of wood transportation are assessed individually and charts illustrate wood transport patterns in relation to the altering parameters. Presented patterns include: (1) the change of technological structures in working hours; (2) productivity and its fluctuation; (3) fuel consumption; (4) transport and commercial speed of transporting wood on KTS trucks.
A whole series of results proves that when planning, organising, implementing and calculating wood transport effectiveness, dispersion of cumulative work achievements must be taken into consideration.
Reduction of costs enhances competitiveness of wood transporters.
Only the most productive transporters will remain present on the market.
