Sažetak
The paper deals with amount of fir´s timber assortments by quality in processed timber volume. The sample consists of 1404 trees with diameter breast height range 20 – 82 cm (diameter classes 22,5 – 82,5 cm) which were fellled and processed in main felling of forest of fir anf hardfern (Blechno – Abietetum Ht). The total volume of timber assortments is 4319,29 m3. Timber assortments are distributed on 4 quality classes regard to dimensions and wood defects. “A” quality class contains assortments with mid-diameter over 25 cm and small sized wood defects (veneer logs or best quality sawlogs). “B” and “C” quality classes are made of sawlogs with differ in sizes and amount of wood defects between them. Assortments with mid-diameter less than 20 cm are placed in the “D” quality class. Assortment volumes are sumarized according to quality and diameter classes. Absolute and relative proportions of quality classes are determined by mean trees of diameter classes. Timber volumes of processed trees as well as absolute values of all quality classes are increased with the increasing of the diameter breast height. “A” quality class starts at diameter class 27,5 cm. Diameter class 22,5 cm has only assortments of “B” and “D” quality classes. In relative proportion, “A” quality class range from 15,2 % at 27,5 cm diameter class to 20,2 % at 77,5 cm diameter class. “B” quality class has the highest relative proportions from 32,5 cm to 47,5 cm diameter classes, while “C” quality class from 52,5 cm awards. The relative proportion of “D” quality class is the highest at diameter class 22,5 cm (80,4 %), but from 42,5 cm onwards has range from 7,0 % to 8,9 %.
