Sažetak
Because of the slopes and stand conditions of Croatian selection fir-beech forests the choker skidder and skyline are the most common means of extraction. This study analyses the work of the LKT-80 choker skidder while skidding long fir-tree roundwood in three different situations with regard to conducted, unconducted, secondary opening of a strip roads network and under different slopes. It also gives results of research on cable yarding beech logs with a mobile tower yarder KSK 16 as a possible alternative to the choker skidder (fourth situation).
For extraction distances under 300 m we calculated the daily efficiency, standard times and costs per unit for each situation:
1. situation: skidding with the LKT-80 choker skidder in a stand where secondary opening has not been conducted and with a 19-38% slope: 79.5 m3/day; 6.04.min/m3; 22.5 kn/m3
2. situation: skidding with the LKT-80 choker skidder in a stand where secondary opening has been conducted and with a strip road slope of up to 36%: 97.m3/day; 4.95 min/m3; 18.3 kn/m3
3. situation: skidding with the LKT-80 choker skidder in a stand where secondary opening has been conducted and with a skidding strip road of up to 25%: 127.7.m3/day; 3.76 min/m3; 14.0 kn/m3
4. situation: cable yarding with the mobile tower yarder KSK 16 in a stand where secondary opening has not been conducted and with a 50-90% slope: 80.6.m3/day; 5.96 min/m3; 47,3 kn/m3
The load volume was highest in situation 3 (6.8 m3) and then in situation 2 (5.2 m3), situation 1 (4.1m3) and situation 4 (2.1m3). For the LKT-80 forwarder 20 % allowance was applied while for the KSK-16 skyline the allowance amounted to 24 % of the effective time.
