Sažetak
Relationships occurring between furniture manufacturing processes and environment protection are affected by design solutions, material used during furniture manufacturing processes and the quality of technology. In furniture design the problems have gained special importance recently. This highly developed and economically and socially important sector of industry uses large quantities of materials characterised by different levels of environmental harmfulness. These problems occupy considerable attention both in research projects and in professional literature. Experiments on this subject carried out in Krakow Furniture Factories are pioneering in the field of restricting emissions of toxic compounds in some selected stands in a furniture factory. According to ISO Standard 14001, companies applying for certificates will be obliged to undergo examinations and measurements concerning emissions into the environment during the production process of various substances and harmful wastes. The system should take into account such possibilities as renovation of used furniture and re-introduction into the market place, recovery of materials from used furniture, their segregation into groups, cleaning and re-introduction into circulation as raw material.
