Sažetak
The aim of this presentation is to present systematic project activities on youth gambling in Croatia that started to develop in 2009 on Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb. These activities include: (1) research of youth gambling on a representative sample of adolescents in Croatian urban areas and prevalence of problem gambling, (2) establishing collaboration with Croatian Lottery and relevant governmental institutions, and (3) raising level of sensitization among adults on this issue. Our future aims are, based on our results and current achievements, to develop an evidence-based prevention program for high-school students in Croatia, adjusted to our cultural context, with the possibility of regional dissemination, as well as influencing regulators and gaming industry for activities that will contribute to harm reduction in this area.
