Sažetak
This paper deals with the bind ability of commercial high grade paper used in perfect binding process. The adhesive binding strength changes are apperaing as consequece of adhesive rigid characteristics. Paperback bond strength evaluation was performed by pull-test measurement and visual assessment. Paperback contains a number of loose leaves binding edges that are bonded in assembly. The bonded assembly is discussed in terms of adhesion between hot-melt adhesive and paper (substrate). Adhesion strength within the inter phase includes terms of adhesive joint strength. The research find out that loose leaf position into text block has strong influence on adhesive joint strength changes, although other independent variables (paper and adhesive properties, binding process) have significant impact on Paperback mechanical durability. For this reason measurements of paper properties were included. The analysis of adhesive joint strength results were performed by the statistical regression method. The main goal of paper is determination of adhesive jonit strenght dependeny in relation to loose leaf position into text block.
