Sažetak
Spectral analysis of machine vibrations is valuable approach to fault detection of wide class of machinery, particularly rotational ones. It is assumed that potential fault progression will have its counterpart in change of a machine vibration spectrum. The spectral acceptance envelope has to be determined as a part of a process. This is mostly approached in a heuristic way. Sometimes, particularly when a large number of machines have been produced, the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) estimate of a machine could be available.
