Sažetak
Almost 5, 700 species of dragonflies are known in the world today. Most of them live in the tropics, but about 120 occur in Erupe, with an additinal 40 in western Turkey and north-western Africa. Some species are widely distributed, while others are restricted to very specific habitats, or occur in just a small area. Of course, it is essential to be able to identify dragonfly species when you see them, and detailed and accurate illustrations and descriptions are provided in this field guide of all the species that occur in Europe, western Turkey, and north-western Africa. Another aim of the guide is to detail some of the best places to watch dragonflies. Many of the regions leading dragonfly eperts have contributed texts on species or regions that they have studied for many years.
