Sažetak
This paper describes design of dedicated CORBA based computer system for remote instrumentation. Existing technologies are non-standard and non-scalable solutions. Present devices cannot be easily integrated into existing general purpose networked systems. Proposed embedded system is designed to create CORBA objects that represent instruments attached to it. Resulting system is dedicated, thin, embedded and easily configurable server. adaption of CORBA as communication platform solves problem client support on multitude of operating systems and languages, but introduces problems related to security, network and CORBA processing latencies.
