Sažetak
We present an implemented system for tracking multiple non-rigid objects, based on two cooperative mechanisms: sparse optical flow and an active contour model. Sparse optical flow along object contours is used for updating the positions of the tracked contours in a sequence of image frames. The active contours hold the tracked contour points near the real object boundary and ensure the tracking stability. The local properties of optical flow enable the system to track the objects during and after their contacts, when parts of object contours become hidden. The system is successfully applied to tracking laboratory animals during pharmacological experiments.
