Sažetak
In the area of selection forests which are located in the mountainous region of west Croatia, the most commonly used machine for hauling wood from the felling area to the auxiliary storage is the choker skidder. Almost 95% of all wood is extracted in this way. The productivity of the choker skidder increases with the increase of the primary and secondary openness network.
This study shows some research results done on LKT 80 and 81 choker tractors in winter and summer working conditions in felling areas with a different level of secondary openness. In winter conditions with a secondary openness of 36 m/ha, the daily output of the LKT 81 at a extraction distance of 300 m equals 45.1 m3/day. For the same distance and secondary openness of 193 m/ha the daily output is 71.8 m3/day. In summer conditions with a secondary openness of 90 m/ha the LKT 80 daily output is 127.7.m3/day and the daily out put for a stand without an opening is 79.3 m3/day.
The allowance time in winter conditions is increased due to snow a by 6%.
