Sažetak
He scope of the paper aims to present and analysis recent trends and changes in MET system in Croatia. After more than half century of well established MET system, recently adopted new regulation regarding education for the highest level STCW certificates lead to the inevitable new stage in maritime education in Croatia. Those changes include implementation of so called “alternative maritime education system” which basically promote vocational system of the education parallel with well established academic approach The main objective of the paper is to analyses possible impact on the quality of the seafarer’s education in light of the implementation of the n new system.
