Sažetak
Results on the commissioning of the electron charge determination in the CMS experiment are presented. The analysis makes use of the 2010 data collected at the LHC at a centre-of- mass energy of $\sqrt{;s};_{;pp}; = 7~TeV$ and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $\ensuremath{;{;\cal L};_{;\mathrm{;int};};}; \sim 35~ \ensuremath{;\mathrm{;pb^{;-1};};};$. Electron/photon triggered events and a Z selection are used to assess the performance of the charge determination algorithm for prompt and isolated electrons in the $p_{;T};$ region beyond 20~GeV/c. The variables used in the charge determination algorithm are compared to full Monte Carlo simulation and measurements of the charge mis-ID rate for different electron selections are reported.
