Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to critically assess the state-of-the art of the current economic valuation methods and to place it into the context of Medirerranean ecosystem. There are shortcomings in many steps of the valuation process starting from cost-benefit analysis in general, over psychologial and sociological obstacles. These shortcomings can be partially tackled by applying group valuation methods. Still very serious problem of endogeneous preferences and baseline shifting remain which indicates that objective and human-independent methods are needed.
